Age 18 too late to start hip hop dance?

I’ve always loved hip hop dance but my parents never let me take it consistently when I was younger because they thought it was a waste of time and money, especially if “it’s not something I would make a career out of.” I really want to get superb in it because it’s something that I don’t think I can live without. However, I often find myself discouraged because I see people who are my age and they are teaching classes already! Or they’re my age or younger and already have had years of experience. I also feel that I’m the only one who is slow on picking up choreography. ahh
I know this sounds quite unrealistic right now…but I would really love to dance on some of the great so-cal hip hop teams like breed or kaba modern.

What are some tips I can use to learn a dance routine by myself?

I want to learn a choreography for this one song. I tried looking for tutorials on youtube, but alas no luck. I’ve found a “dance shot” (ie just the choreography without any interruption in a music video), but it moves really fast.. Is there any tips you can give me to help me learn this choreography easier?

i need help finding a song that is instrumental, or maybe percussive, with some tribal, intense, rhythmical influence to it.
No CommentsMy other idea would be to find rhythmical, scary music. kind of dark, but not gothic or metal.
If you even give me names of groups who do this style of music, that would be great help!!
I need it for a choreography. I want to create a choreography for a dance based on crows, and i want the routine to be intense. I havent found the right music yet, though.

Katee & Joshua’s routine - Mia Michaels choreography…Did anyone else get a little teary eyed? I thought it was just exquisite and just so emotional! I felt the same about the routine that she choreographed for Chesie & Mark a few weeks ago too.

Help! I need to teach dance to kids?

So I just got a job teaching little kids how to dance, and I’m a dancer but I’ve never worked with kids before. I have no idea what kind of choreography to give them, or what kind of songs are okay to play (in hip-hop). I’m supposed to teach them hip-hop or jazz or any cultural dance. Also, most of them are boys, and I have no idea what to teach boys…HELP PLEASE!!!

So for my dance 2 class at school we are making up our own choreography. My group and I want to do a mix of 2 songs and we already thought of “just dance” by lady gaga, but we would like to add some hip hop to it, but we dont know what song. so can someone please tell me a good hiphop song to dance to. Please NO soulja boy songs or anything like that. THANKS!!!

I’m in a Show Choir class (yes, the same class as my question about the 1910’s!) and we’re doing the song “It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing”. There’s an eight-beat instrumental and I’ve been asked to do a short tap dance solo.
