i have wanted to dance on west end for some time now and have had lots of experience when i was younger but am currently not in training and alot of the auditions ask for current dance school references-where can i go?????

I have recently moved from California to Colorado Springs…in California community colleges had special listings and offerings for adult classes - things like dance lessons, flower arranging, computer skills, drawing, foreign languages, pottery, etc. They were just for fun and not towards a degree or anything. I am looking for a listing of something similar but in the Colorado Springs area.

Dance Instructor?

Hi. I’m thinking of giving dance lessons…but only as a private tutor of maybe 6 or 7 kids each class. I was just wondering what are the criterias to give these lessons. I have dance experience(just not as a tutor)…as a student. And I don’t have a piece of paper to show that I do. Is there any way to get around this? I mean besides the fact that I love dancing and helping kids….I need to start making some money fast…while doing what I love, of course…HELP!!!!!
First of all…I really don’t think a piece of paper should deter anyone from teaching dance once you have experience. Secondly, I know my grammar. That was an error. And last but certainly not least…I’m not planning on teaching the world…only six or seven children per class. Personally, I think you’re the idiots.

how do i talk my parents into letting me?

im in a swing club at school but its getting crowded,you dont get much one-on-one, and its only once a week for 1 hour.
i would love to take any type of dance lessons that are similar to swing outside of school but my parents say its too expensive, which isnt fair to me. and im not seeing many dance places online that have the type of lessons i want to take. sooooooo any advice here??? anything would help

im 11 and i really want to take dance classes. i took em wen i was 3 but then i decided to quit. my mom says i have “dance legs” cuz she used to dance. but im REALLY SUPER SHY. like one time someone talked to me and i didnt say anything….i juss stood there looking at them. they probably thought that there was something wrong with me…seriously. but i really enjoy dancing. if i take dance for beginners and other ppl that are, say, 3, 4, or 5 are starting to take classes at the same place…would i be placed with them since im pretty much juss beginning or will they put me in some other class cuz really….idk. like all the ppl in my area pretty much take dance and if they dnt they really dnt wanna. will they try to put me with people my age?

Does anybody know some good places in Northern Utah (Salt Lake area, and north of Salt Lake). I have figure skated for sevearl years, and because of a recent injury I haven’t been abe to get back into skating so I was thinking about taking up some dance lessons this summer…what type of dance do you suggest? I’m 14 years old.
I have looked in the phone book and there are so many different places…what is the best way to choose where to go?

What is a good age to take up Ballroom Dancing?

My daughter is almost 13 and has expressed an interest in Ballroom dancing.
My questions are:
-Does it matter that she hasn’t had any dance lessons (tap & jazz) since she was 6 or 7 years old?
-I know they have ballroom classes for adult couples but do classes exist for girls her age?
-Would she need to have a partner to enroll with?

I realize I can investigate dance studios around town but since I know nothing about this I’d just like to have some idea of what to expect or how generally the studios run.

She won’t dance with me?

I’m 12 inches taller than my girlfriend and because of that she’s embarrased to dance with me. So, on every party we go to, I end up sitting alone and watching her change her dancing partners all night long. What can I do? Do dance lessons help? Can two people with significant difference in height successfully dance together or is our dancing doomed from the start? Are there any dances where height is not so important?
