how much do you think you need to know to be on the competitive dance team.please help! ?
i want to be on the competitive dance team next year. i have been dancing for 2 years (ballet tap jazz hip hop) and i was just wondering what you think i would need to know to be on the competitive dance team. i dont care if its for ballet tap or jazz, just not hip hop.

Finding a dance class?
so i am currently in my high school’s dance team and that’s great, however i want to enroll into some sort of technique class that will help me become a better dancer. i live in Los Angeles and my area code is 90304. if you live near me, do you have any suggestions? if you don’t, then do you have any tips for helping me find one? thanks

should i quit dance?
reasons to quit:
A. i missed so much that i dont know half the dance we started
B. i dont like the dance
C. its not really fun
D. id be embarassed onstage in front of everyone doing such a *** [that was the only word i could find to describe it...its so cutsie and not my style at all] dance compared to the competition team when im on my schools dance team
E. i dont fell like going on mondays =[ its not fun
F. save money
reasons to stay:
A. id get my 10 year trophey
B. Id be dancing to keep in shape [but i have dance at school for that too]
C. i would be making the choreographer [who is already stressed] re stage the dance without me in it
so should i quit?
noo i dont mean quit entirely! i am still dancing but im wondering if i should drop out of the dance at this studio…

How do I get in shape for trying out for dance team?
I’m a sophomore in high school. Entering my freshman year I tried out once for the dance team and didn’t make it. I had to leave while learning the clinic because my mom wouldn’t let me stay so I barely got to learn any of the dance steps because I was so worried about not remembering them. I felt like I looked irresponsible.
I’m looking to try out again in May. What are some ways I can get in shape. I know I need to lose some weight but would starving yourself help faster? I find it very hard to lose weight. What are the best ways I can work on my straight leap? Is there anything else I should learn besides toe touches, turns, and leaps? The dance team doesn’t compete in competitions. They just make up their own routines. Can anyone help me?
