competitive dance?

hi, i’ve been a dancer for about 3 years now, and I’ve been in about 5 recitals . I love dancing, and it is one of my favorite things to do . I take hip-hop and i am thinking about starting jazz or tap, and want to join a competive group at my dance studio . I dont take ballet , but i do take gymnastics also , which is a requirement for a competition team . Any suggestions for me? thanks(:

What should my daughter do to get ready for pointe?

My daughter is 7 &1/2 years old and loves to dance. She is currently taking tap, ballet and jazz/hip hop. Her dance teacher told her that she has great potential for pointe. I know that they don’t start pointe until 11 or 12 years old, but what can she do to get herself ready for it in the meantime?

What is the “technical” term for Fred Astaire’s style of tap?

I am very seriously thinking about taking tap dancing lessons. I don’t like gyms, but I want to do some type of work out. I’ve always wanted to learn tap dancing, but I want to learn the type of tap dancing done by people like Sammy Davis Jr., Fred Astaire, Dean Martin…I thought that was jazz tap, but I’m not really sure.

Ok so i am taking 2 dance classes i have two halter leotards(pink and red) a pair of stirrup tights and some short black dance shorts ia am taking acro and jazz/hip hop what else do i need to get and what are good colors to get the stuff in and do i need a dance bag

Teenage Dancing Career?

I have been dancing since i was 3 and im now 14 years old. I want to do something with my talent but i dont know where to audition or show people what i can do…i do nearly all styles inc. ballet, modern, tap and jazz.

also if anyone knows of any names of companies besides the australian ballet that you could audition for

what should i do? Dance, volleyball, choir, guitar, or all?

I don’t know what to do! i love doing jazz tap and ballet, but i want to add one more thing to my schedule. my best friend does volleyball so i could do that with her. or i love musicals so i could dance and sing. or their is always the cool guitar! so tell me which do u think is the best to do!

Dance Colleges?

Okay, I am hoping to find a college where I can major in Dance. Becase I want to become a dancer. I especially love jazz & hip-hop styles of dance. I also like to act some too. But what I really want is a good dance college. Perferably around New York or Georgia. Do you have any ideas of some good colleges that I would like?
